Why am I mixed up in politics now? I am apolitical. Is it because some conservative asshole doesn't know how to write his own speeches? Why should I suffer for that? The internet is enough of a cutthroat environment for me. When are these pricks going to leave me alone and let me play my songs? I don't follow politics, it's a fucking joke. Some candidate on a stage with his family saying 'vote for me because I love my family.' No debate on the relevant issues, just a bunch of meaningless posturing. I want nothing to do with it. To the ones who have the privilege of reading my comments, which apparently I don't deserve, I want to clue you in on a few possible unwelcome ones. Mostly I dislike the condescending, backhanded compliments. For instance, 'It's OK if you sing flat' probably came from an insecure singer who can't write interesting music. I care more about personality in a voice than I do about technical perfection. One of my favorite vocalists is Billie Holiday and I don't think she nailed every note of her vocals by the time they finally let her be successful. And did anyone hear Mick Jagger in that live performance of Nothing but Ashes? I could barely recognize the vocal melody. But go ahead and spend another hundred dollars on them. I was thinking today of the one employer who might suit my background and skills. It's a non-profit company that criticizes advertising. But then I realized that someone like me would actually give it teeth. That would 'hurt the economy'. So I guess I'll have to stay unemployed. It really sucks when you are held back by superior skills and talent. It's like being one of those boxers that the champ doesn't want to fight because he knows he will lose. Why are people still just finding out that my songs and scripts are all original? Oh, I guess it's because the broadcasters are too embarrassed by what they did to my erased posts. Nice to know that viewers trusts these jerks who would commit murder to sustain their illusion of perfection. The TV makes them participate in fraud. The TV cheats them out of their homes. The TV makes them fight wars they don't believe in. Maybe if they keep watching, the TV can make them kill themselves. |
