Opening scene: A lullaby plays as the scene zooms slowly in on a blond child in his crib. The lights are dim but his blue eyes glow in the dark. He twists the head off his doll as the lullaby abruptly switches to horror music and the title flashes across the screen (in Russian with an English subtitle). Next scene: His parents find the family pet decapitated and dismembered in the back yard. They report it to the police as their toddler roams about freely, covered in blood from head to toe. Next scene: In school the child learns 'musical chairs'. The teacher plays a record for a few moments and then lifts the needle. She is horrified to see the only chair occupied by the blond child as his competitors lie wounded and dying on the floor. Next scene: The child has grown into a man. Peasants labor to fill a barn with grain. Outside the blond villain parks a heavy vehicle against the door and then sets the barn ablaze... |
