This is how those smug pricks really think. Host: It's time for Parent of the Week, where we honor new parents for adding future taxpayers to the population. With me today is Alex Shnob, whose adorable little girl just turned three. Thank you for being here. Shnob: My pleasure. Host: And I understand you're employed with a popular cartoon. Shnob: I'm a writer for Family Man. You need to be responsible and get a good job if you want to be able to raise a family, not like those childless weirdos. Host: Yes, quite right. And how did you land such a great job? Shnob: A friend of mine who writes for the Sumpsons recommended me. You need to socialize if you want to be successful, not like those angry loners. Host: Yes, of course. And I must say I'm a fan of your work. Tell me, what is the key to writing good comedy? Shnob: Good question. The key is knowing where to find it. Host: You mean in your experience? Shnob: No. Host: In your imagination? Shnob: No. Host: In your heart? Shnob: Don't make me laugh. Host: Then where? Shnob: On the internet, of course. You see, anyone can search for comedy on the web, but it takes a pro to recognize true quality and originality. Host: You don't write your own work? Shnob: No, none of the pros have time to write their own scripts. We're too busy with our jobs. But if some irresponsible bum with all the time in the world posts a good script on the web, we see that it doesn't go to waste. Host: Are you saying that Family Man is written by a... a... Shnob: By a single man on welfare. Not all of it, though, just the funny parts. Host: You don't pay him? Shnob: Why should I pay him? He had no intention of writing my show. Besides, he's funnier when he's poor. What's wrong? You look sad. |
